Local Food Drops

Since the outbreak of COVID-19, Five Pillars have been actively delivering food parcels to the elderly community both domestically and abroad.

Initial funds were raised from friends and family to bulk-purchase food for 68  occupants in elderly community housing at Red Kite's Parsonage Close in Buckinghamshire. Each person being offered a food bag containing necessities such as milk, pasta, beans, tea, bread and one sole toilet roll! Before receiving a bag full of vegetables and fruit later in the week.

The team continues to visit Parsonage Close and now Braunswick Place weekly to drop food packages and assist those who still seek help, receiving some wonderful feedback from the residents there.

Shibli Trust

Five Pillars have been working in Pakistan alongside partners, Shibli Trust, to provide immediate relief to the desperately poor and needy families.

Food packs have been distributed amongst families living on the outskirts of Islamabad to those who have lost their jobs as a result of COVID-19 and little to no savings or family support.

Kashmir Free Blood Bank

Five Pillars have also been working alongside Kashmir Free Blood Bank to distribute food packs to remote villages and towns in the area. Volunteers have often been required to carry aid on foot for numerous miles to reach the aforementioned rural areas.

In addition, essentials such as masks, gloves, plastic overalls, bed sheets and mattresses have been provided to the local hospital in Dudyal to help fight the COVID-19 virus.
